Lozan Yamolky is of Kurdish descent and was born and raised in Baghdad. She immigrated to Canada in 1995. Due to a traumatic brain injury she sustained in a motor vehicle accident, Lozan withdrew from the poetry community as her injury caused her to lose her ability to write poetry or even read her own for a while. She is recovering well with multiple therapists and is pleased and thankful to be back among her community of poets, authors and audiences who cherish the gift of poetry. Lozan is editing her fourth poetry collection, Hush, Let the Silence Speak
