Canada, Keizur – who sings in both French and English, stands out from the crowd in a refreshing and powerful way, combining French songs (classics: Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel - contempo: Pink Martini, Banda Magda) with English/American classics & pop (Elvis Costello, Billie Holiday). “Heather sings like there’s no tomorrow” says Christofferson, whose piano, melodica, and vocals add remarkable depth and surprise to their one-heart, one-mind presentations. “We’re compelled to reach you.”

Heather Keizur and Steve Christofferson Biography

Raised in Canada, Keizur – who sings in both French and English, stands out from the crowd in a refreshing and powerful way, combining French songs (classics: Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel - contempo: Pink Martini, Banda Magda) with English/American classics & pop (Elvis Costello, Billie Holiday). “Heather sings like there’s no tomorrow” says Christofferson, whose piano, melodica, and vocals add remarkable depth and surprise to their one-heart, one-mind presentations. “We’re compelled to reach you.”

Regularly performing with some of the Northwest’s premier musicians, Keizur has lead groups of world class players such as Seattle guitarist Milo Petersen, formerly with Eartha Kitt: and Bay Area pianist David K Mathews, currently touring with Santana.

Heather’s passion for music began as a child in British Columbia. Throughout her life, she has performed in a variety of jazz, country and pop bands. In 2008, Keizur hit the vibrant Portland, Oregon jazz scene with her unique, timeless and bi-lingual style and is now a well-known and highly esteemed entertainer there. She also performs in Seattle, New Orleans and BC.

Shades of Dalida, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat Cole and Henri Salvador color Heather’s latest CD, Under My Skin, a sultry, expressive and romantic album of classic ballads, jazz standards and some authentic French chansons. Her first CD, J’ai Deux Amours, features beautiful melodies of love and longing, many sung in French and speaks to Heather’s love of Edith Piaf, Blossom Dearie and Billie Holiday.

Steve Christofferson started out as a garage-band guitarist but he picked up the keyboard after hearing the Beatles' "White Album." Steve performed at the Portland Jazz Festival with Kurt Elling and has played piano and melodica in nightclubs and festivals around the world with Nancy King, Alan Jones and Karrin Allyson. He teaches workshops and master classes at home and abroad, and is heard on recordings with Nancy King, The Metropole Orchestra and Skol Brothers, the electric quintet that features his compositions.
