REENIE (Reenie Perkovic) is a Toronto-based musician and composer who writes and arranges honest songs with a soulful edge that is fun and introspective all at once. REENIE spent the summer of 2015 touring coast-to-coast across Canada, including

stops at renowned festivals (CMW, Beaches Jazz, Pride). She recently recorded a fullband

EP of all new songs (partially funded by FACTOR), to be released in Feb 2016.!

REENIE’s previous album, Parallel Place, was recorded at the renowned Toronto studio

Canterbury Music Company with engineer Jeremy Darby (Sara Bareilles, the

Barenaked Ladies.) This album featured top-notch graduates from Humber and U of T

jazz programs, lending a light jazz flavour to these pop compositions.!

While studying music composition at UVic with John Celona (saxophonist for

Santana) and Cassandra Miller, Reenie wrote works that were read by the Victoria

Symphony and Ensemble Contemporain de Montreal. During her studies, she learned

to combine her classical training with a jazz sensibility, rhythmic drive and delicate

construction of ensemble texture. After graduating, she moved to Toronto to hone her

skills in such legendary Toronto venues as the Cameron House, the Drake Underground

& the Gladstone.
