BIO Brodie
Named 'Vocalist of the Year' at the 2014 Vancouver Island Music Awards and nominated for 'Best Live Act' at both 2013 and 2014 VIMA's, Brodie Dawson definitely delivers!

It’s not often we find an artist that has you unable to look away while she effortlessly delivers a rawness and passion that stays with you long after.

It’s her voice that jumps out at you…as soon as she sings her first note you're hooked.  It's rich and pure, so powerful and full of soul.  You're in whether or not you wanted to be - and you might as well not look back, and just hold on for the ride... Brodie Dawson was born in Hamilton, Ontario - ‘The Hammer’ and grew up in an environment that would prove to be her mentoring and her life’s classroom. Her Father and talented musician in his own right, Brent Dawson, was at the center of the city's flourishing music scene and Brodie grew up with basement rehearsals, backyard parties with live bands, and lots of musicians around.  It was inevitable that she would absorb it all and eventually get to work on developing her own style. This style reflects a true love story between music and life that is constantly evolving, and awakens those who are lucky enough to witness it.  Brodie takes charge of her live performances with a riveting rawness and an incredible voice that impacts us all, and clearly shows she has earned her pedigree.
She has shared the stage with many other amazing musicians such as WiL, Tracy Riley, Rick Fines, The Sojourners, George Canyon, Jake Owen, and Serena Ryder!  Her songs can be heard on 98.9 The Goat FM, 97.3 The Eagle, and CBC Radio, and she has had the pleasure of being a musical guest on CBC’s The Vinyl Café with Stuart McLean. Finishing a full summer of shows such asSunfest Country Music Festival in Duncan, Filberg Festival in Comox, Yellowknife's 'Folk on the Rocks, and Serenity's Harvest Music Festival on Birch Island, Brodie's been turning heads and creating a buzz wherever she goes, leaving her audiences enchanted and full-hearted.

Brodie calls her style a mix of 'soulful folky blues' with a gospel funk, a twist of pop and a twang of old-school country. True to all those genres she sings of life, love, searching and finding your way. For those of you that haven't heard her sing-you're in for a treat! She'll catch you at the door as the first notes of her voice will seem to wrap you in a warm cloak made of sweet, earthy moodiness and speak directly to your heart the entire evening. Her long awaited, aptly-named, debut CD 'THE LOST TAPES' originally recorded many years ago at the infamous Hotel2Tango Studios in Montreal and put on the back burner during her adventurous ride in life, was literally 'lost' until recently and has been found, re mastered and released with the help of producer Corwin Fox. It has been well worth the wait and allows us to hear and feel her infectious and captivating tracks that tell her story…so far.  Every song expresses what we have all felt at one point in our lives and maybe this is why so many have found a place in their hearts for this girl that speaks the truth through song.  It's guaranteed to leave you spellbound and wanting more...

And more you shall have!  Brodie newest single titled ‘All This Time’  was released onTunes March 1st, 2015!  It has been nominated for ‘Best Roots/Folk Recording of the Year’ at the 2015 Vancouver Island Music Awards!
Expect to hear lots of it and be prepared to love it...
