England's Richard Grainger @Char's
Port Alberni - Thursday October 3rd, 7:30pm

An evening from a well known British singer and songwriter.

Great stories and songs from his home region of  North Yorkshire and Industrial North east of England.

Richard Grainger brings a fascinating bunch of songs and stories from his own Yorkshire Coast, with very sing-able choruses. He has a powerful delivery, singing in the traditional 'folk style' accompanying himself on guitar.

A recording artist with 14 acclaimed albums, Richard is  a playwright too, with numerous TV & Radio appearances  including with Sir David Attenborough on a project about James Cook.  He's written much about the working folk of Yorkshire and Teesside from Whaling to Fishing, Farming the heavy industries Steel and Chemical works , shipwrecks , in fact all aspects of his beloved North Country.

He also sings of mans effect on climate and the environment.

This is all delivered, of course, with a sense of humour,  love and respect for his audience.

You may, or may not learn something, but you'll surely have of a good time.
