Jill Russell Flute-Multi Instrumentalist Jill Russell is a flutist/multi-instrumentalist that has been playing music from a very early age. She holds a degree in music from Western Washington University and spent 6 years post graduation following her muse in San Francisco’s lively arts scene. A love of Brazilian music led her to learn from and tour Western Canada with master musician Celso Machado. This led to a recording called ‘Check the Beans’, featuring some of Brazil’s finest musicians. Jill fronted Corcovado, a band that played festivals and concert stages in Vancouver for several years. More recently, Jill has done several recording projects with Canadian singer/songwriters as well as a singer/songwriter recording in Sao Paulo, Brazil. With Jill’s love of acoustic music from all over the world, her musical style lends a unique and soulful voice to the full range of contemporary song writing.
