Claudio Fantinato - Saxophone
 
Gifted Saxophonist Claudio Fantinato returns to his hometown on Sunday, Feb 4 for a performance at Jazz@Chars. After graduating from ADSS, Claudio went on to study music at Vancouver Island University. Winning a Canada Council Grant and a Berklee scholarship, he continued his studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Claudio now lives in Qualicum Beach and is currently co-owner, with Juno Award-winning saxophonist Phil Dwyer, of SeaWind Musical Instruments Inc. Together they assemble and market beautifully designed alto & tenor saxophones. Claudio continues to perform with bands up and down Vancouver Island. Doug, Dave and myself are thrilled to be presenting a concert with such a stellar musician.
 
With regular bassist Wally Petersen on holiday, our guitarist Doug Gretsinger switches to the electric bass for the first Jazz@Chars night of 2024 on Sunday, February 4th . The music is ongoing from 6pm-8pm. Doors open at 5pm. A voluntary suggested gratuity of $15 (Seniors/Students) $20 (Adults) is appreciated. Attendees are welcome to bring their own snacks or supper. The beverage bar is open.
