Participants may wish to create in advance an account on KDP, Kindle Direct Publishing (Amazon) from which to publish. During Part 1, Jan. 24, at 2 pm Pacific Time, Craig will walk authors through the publishing process, from manuscript to published online. (You don't have to actually publish a book that day, but you will understand every step of the process!) During Part 2 of the workshop, on Jan. 31, at 2 pm Pacific Time, we will explore promotional aspects of self-publishing.

Workshop presenter Craig Stephen Copland has self-published over 200 books on Amazon. He is the author of 43 self-published Sherlock Holmes novels. An English major at the University of Toronto, he sat at the feet of both Northrup Frye and Marshall McLuhan and other great literary professors. His professional career took him to over one hundred countries and endless adventures. He is a member of the Sherlock Holmes Society of Canada--also known as the Toronto Bootmakers, and he is on a mission to write a new Sherlock Holmes mystery that is related to and inspired by each of the sixty stories in the original Canon. He looks forward to finally settling down when he turns ninety.

Event organizer Jacqueline Carmichael has organized many online events for writers via Zoom. She is the organizer of Women's Winter Yakfest Mondays and Amazing Strong Inspired. She is author of Heard Amid the Guns: True Stories from the Western Front 1914-1918 (Heritage House, 11-03-2020.)
