The Butterfly Effect is a butterfly release fundraiser for the Alberni Valley Hospice Society, generously sponsored by Jim's Clothes Closet!

Our annual butterfly release event celebrates the transformation from one stage of life to another, paying symbolic tribute to the loved ones we have lost.

Our events include kids' activities, live music by Alberni Teens Can Rock, BBQ run by the Rotary Club, and more!

Each person who buys a butterfly to release will receive an individually packed butterfly, ready to break free and take flight at our mass release location on event day.

We have made the decision to release Painted Lady butterflies, which are indigenous to our region.

It's an amazing experience to be surrounded by hundreds of butterflies.

Butterflies are $25 each, or 10 for $200.

Jim's Clothes Closet has sponsored 100 butterflies for ANYONE in the community to release at NO COST!
