The Alpine Gardeners of Central Vancouver Island (AGCVI) welcome Jiri Papousek, Czech rock & tufa garden expert, who is passionate about daphnes, to talk about "Small Daphnes and Their Cultivation".  Qualicum Beach Civic Centre, 747 Jones, QB.  Doors 12:30, speaker at 1:00 pm.  $10 at door ($5 for AGCVI, AGC-BC and VIRAGS members) includes refreshments and ticket on plants prize draw.  Daphnes make super rock and general garden plants with long lasting flowering and lovely scent. 

Jiri, "The Alpine Parrot" is well known in Czech and European rock and alpine gardening circles.  He has 30 years experience of growing & exhibiting alpines at the famous Prague Rock Garden shows and has been on the International Czech Rock Garden Conference Committee of 2008, 2013 and now 2017  In the last 5 years he has given lectures in Scotland, USA, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Norway and Sweden.
