Chars Landing is thrilled to host this fantastic afternoon of live Big Band Music and dancing featuring the 19 person Georgia Strait Big Band.  Bring your Dancing shoes.....and take advantage of a lovely dance floor !  You are in for a musical treat, as the band performs tunes from its 250 song repertoire, made famous by The Count, Gillespie and Ellington, expertly led by conductor, Greg Bush, Professor of Jazz Studies at Vancouver Island University.  The Bands repertoire also includes many contemporary tunes.

Seating will be limited so don't be disappointed.  This is a great opportunity to enjoy a unique afternoon of live music in the closer confines of Chars Landing.  Band Manager Rob Peterson commented "Performing in a smaller room at the Upper with our 19 person band will make for a very memorable afternoon of live music".  The Georgia Strait Big Band is a Comox Valley based band that is carrying on a tradition of Big Band music that dates back some 80 years.   Doors open 2pm.
