Sat, Feb 21st, 8-10pm, Concert – Bev Finch - Blues/ Folk/ Roots
With her “Bluesy-Folk” style of story telling, Bev Finch will weave her musical tales into your heart, and your head.  Using her rhythmic, and often gentle way of playing guitar, she draws on her own experience and lyrical content, to connect to her listeners.  From Heart wrenching, to toe tapping, all of her original music will make you want to ask, “Where did that come from?”  “I’ve been singing, and  playing music since I was a child,” says Finch, “But it took one life altering moment for the music to die.”…”and another, years later, to bring it back to life”.  Vancouver Island Music  Awards Nominee in 2013 in the ‘Blues/Folk/Roots’ category, with her original tune,”The Garden”, and her first  CD album ‘BlueSilk”, release in July 2014, Bev has been seeing a lot of the stage.  From Central Island open mics to the McMillan Center for the Performing Arts.  Bev has been seen on the stage with local greats like; Len Hill, Fred Saliani, Ron Steward, Dave Marco, Peter Mason, The Jagsters, and Mike Mallon(Lazy Mike).

Get to know Bev Finch ...

“I grab my guitar, pick a few notes, and the world disappears,” says Bev Finch. “Sometimes words swirl around in my head ... crashing together with crazy abandon. Then slowly but surely they bond  ... stringing together to tell a story. Mixed with melody, the confusion becomes a song.”

With blues-kissed-with-folk lyrics, and satiny vocals that will make you say “didn't see that comin'!”, lyricist Bev Finch tells soul-stirring tales of her life and yours. You'll not only hear the music, you'll feel it as Bev's unforgettable music tracks leave you humming her tunes long after the last notes fade away.

Bev performs independently, in duos and larger bands on Vancouver Island. Depending upon your requirements, Bev can arrange any combination of players with tunes ranging from Blues to Folk to Country Rock.

Bev is not only involved in music-making, but also in guitar building. Comprehensive training followed by a career spanning 15 years as a high-end tonewood grader, gained Bev a deep personal relationship and understanding of stringed wood instruments. She's made 'musical connections' in places as far away as China and continues to teach the 'art and sound of tonewood' to students of guitar building. She is currently building a guitar herself.
