Welcome to Food and Filosophy on Monday 6th at Dolce Vita.
Another exciting year is coming, and with your help we will continue to make this a caring and responsible discussion group in Port Alberni. I thank all those who have contributed to the growth and development of this group. Remember, this is no exclusive group. We all belong to it as long as you live in Port Alberni. It is not restricted to certain types of citizens. Many people have asked me if anyone can attend the discussion meetings, and the answer is yes!
At our last meeting, we had over 22 persons attending. I do not judge by the number of attendees. The right number always comes.
One of our regulars is Don Martin. He has asked to begin our discussion group on January with two of his special friends. Christopher and Jayne Dicks. These two people are recent new comers to Port, and they have fallen in love with this place. Christopher will speak of the love affair with Port Alberni, and Jayne will be talking about her time in England as a crime scene investigator and her role as the coroner here in Port Alberni.
That is enough to whet your appetite for the extremely interesting discussion on Monday evening. Did you know that Jayne Dicks is our coroner? What is the job of a coroner? What is her interest in this field?
In February, Don is going to introduce another important member of this community to us. Hugh Braker. Who is Hugh Braker? What connection does he have with this community? What is the connection between Hugh and Judy Sayers and A.W.Neill? I will share with you some of the ideas that Hugh intend to discuss with us.
March: Sylvia Springer would like to present Sharon Hillman to us, and if Sharon cannot make it, then Sylvia will invite a member of the Integrative Health Community. Again, thanks for the acceptance to share your expertise with us all.
April We want to know more about our Regional District, so we have asked Richard to contact Penny Cote to enlighten us in this topic.
May: It has been said that a prophet has no honour in his or her own country. I do not believe in this statement, for in this month, I would like to invite Dani and Andrew McLean to be our motivational speakers. They have been honoured by the Reader’s Digest. On this evening, I want us to come out and honour these citizens of Positive Port. What they have done, you and I CAN ALSO DO!
June. We celebrate this session, and once more all of us will come with ideas for the coming year. On this evening, I would like to hear how well we have emulated both Danni and Andrew McLean. YES, WE CAN!
