Return of the PST

Well, we’ve successfully celebrated a Joyous Noel and ushered in the New Year, 2013, and now we can look forward to the demise of the penny and the return of the PST. The penny will just be discontinued and phased out unceremoniously while the PST will be back in action April Fools’ Day. Something Freudian here? Businesses can register and get more information about the PST at this website: gov.bc.ca/register. It takes about 20 minutes to register.
The Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce will again be hosting the annual Community Excellence Awards. The event will be staged the evening of April 18th. It’s important that we recognize those businesses and individuals who improve our quality of life in the Alberni Valley. So, be sure to nominate a business or individual by going to our website: avcoc.com and clicking on Community Excellence Awards. There will be two new categories added to the awards this year; New Construction and Renovation.
Our next Networking Luncheon takes place Wednesday Jan.9th at the Barclay Hotel. Russell Dyson, Administrator for the Regional District of Alberni-Clayoquot will speak about the future of the Regional District. Please reserve you seat by calling our office at 724 6535.
