APRIL IS POETRY MONTH!!!
What is the best way to celebrate poetry this month? We are so fortunate to have a wonderful place donated to us by the residents of Abbeyfield, the last Wednesday of each month. Let us make this time special. You have enough time to search for your favourite poem. Remember, you can recite, read, sing, or compose. On Saturday morning, I was travelling to Victoria. I was listening to North by North West, and poetry was the topic. People were choosing their favourite poems to be recited on radio. They chose The Daffodils, and The World is too much with us. They also mentioned The Solitary Reaper, but they promise to have it recited at some other time. I also heard Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright in song! I had never heard this before. We have a jewel in the C.B.C. I hope we all support this cultural treasure! I was absent at this group last month, so I am going to recite two famous verses from the Merchant of Venice.."How like a fawning publican he looks, I hate him for he is a Christian." The other famous verse is recited by Portia: "The quality of mercy is not strained." What are you planning to share with us on April 29th at 6 p.m at Abbeyfield?

KAIZEN CORNER..CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IN ALL AREAS OF OUR LIVES.
Let us listen to Leo Buscaglia speak about this constant aspiration to become the best that we can be: "This knowledge should give man his greatest challenge-the pursuit of self- his own personal Odyssey; discovering his rooms putting them in order. It should challenge him not only to be a good person, a loving person, a feeling person, an intelligent person, but the BEST (I am responsible for the capitalization!), most loving, feeling, intelligent person he is capable of. His search is not in competition with anyone else's. He becomes his own personal challenge." Let us ponder these words!
